FYI: If also remaking the armholes, I would cut the existing binding away – which would be a 2-step sewing process. This would reduce the bulk underneath the arms. Stay tuned for “Stars and Stripes” tank remake for these steps.
Also, if you used these same steps to cut away the pre-existing binding around the neck, it would have a great effect as well – giving it a more sheer look.
