I know the weather is turning but this same idea can be used on SWEATERS! You just have to add a whole strip of knit interfacing to the side of the sweater before you cut. Then cut through it so your sweater won’t unravel nor stretch. You’d also have to piece together the side panels to make long sleeves.
If you are using a woven fabric instead of a knit fabric for your side panels, then you don’t need the interfacing.
